    “Dear Faraz,

I hope and pray that this mail of mine shall find you in the best of health and well being. We as a small group of families and friends are involved in carrying out different welfare activities from time to time, to our utmost Istitaat. In last year’s floods we have worked in the Districts of Nowshehra and Charsadda in Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa and in Districts of Multan, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Layyah, and D.I. Khan in Southern Punjab. Where we tried to help our brethren in trouble through cash, Ration, Medical camps, Medicine, Blankets, ready made cloths, 44 one room houses and construction of a Mosque. May Allah S.W.T. accept our humble contribution?
A couple of months back we decided to do something about contributing in the Education sector. While surfing the net I incidentally came across the site “educationsaveschildren.org”. I was really impressed and moved to see how a Pakistani living in U.S.A. feels for the plight of our education system and has taken the initiative and very successfully running a school. I salute your father for His dedication, enthusiasm and the hard work He put in for running the affairs of the school. Please accept my heartiest congratulations for the outstanding result of Board Exam for the students of class five.
Masood Sahib asked me to contact you through email and share with you some of the activities being carried out by us under the Slogan “EDUCATION FOR ALL”, to date. Kindly find attached the file for your record.
We will try to contribute towards this noble cause of yours, as much as we can. Hoping to have a true and lasting relationship. Please Keep in touch and take care.

Regards,
Tariq Haseeb.”

    “Dear Faraz,

I visited Mashal earlier today and met Mr. Masood Sheikh as well, who gave me a detailed introduction to the school and its processes. I must say it was indeed a very pleasant surprise visiting the school and to find it being run in such an admirable manner. I have visited state-run schools in Jhang, Lahore and Hafizabad and of all the primary schools have found this one to be the most well managed and with the most disciplined students as well. The method of accelerated teaching is also bearing fruit as it was mentioned that during the board exams of class 5th students from Mashal scored the best percentage as a whole in the whole Walton Cantt area. For students coming from backgrounds where education and learning at home aren't amongst the top priorities such result is commendable indeed.
At the moment my organization is working on the development of a School Operations Management Systems which will be operational by August. I personally don't think Mashal would need that at the moment, as it would require a few more resources to manage and would provided information that the teachers already have. But as i mentioned earlier, we are in the planning stages of teacher training programs and a few other initiatives and as soon as we launch those, Mashal will be the first priority for us to get the benefit of those.
Till then, I would start working in my personal capacity for a few other initiatives that i discussed today with Mr. Masood Sheikh. Will keep you in the loop.
Thanks for giving us this opportunity to visit the school.

Regards,
Sadik.”

    “Dear Sir,

I represent LUMS Model UN Society (LUMUN), a student-run, not-for-profit organization founded with the aim of creating awareness by giving students a platform to debate about world issues and conflicts. LUMUN has participated and won various international MUN competitions including the prestigious Harvard WorldMUN (4 times in a row). LUMUN has also been holding Asia's largest model UN conferences at LUMS since 2002 which have been attended by over 5000 delegates from all over Pakistan and abroad.
This year, we've started the LUMUN Social Responsibility Program with a vision of providing community service to children of non-profit organizations such as SAVE. Our focus is on the UN Millennium Development Goals of providing Universal Primary Education and Environmental Sustainability.
In this regard, we wish to provide the following services to SAVE: Hold Open Days throughout the year - LUMUN volunteers go to Mashal Primary School and spend time with the children and possibly play a cricket match, make artwork, etc. LUMUN sponsors all activities for the day. Videos are made, pictures taken, and incorporated for a general video which will be played during the annual LUMUN Conference.
Summer School 2009 - LUMUN volunteers will provide teaching assistance to the school teachers and will hold extra curricular sessions with the kids where they could be taught painting, drawing, playing musical instruments, etc.
Social Responsibility Day - Involve the children of SAVE in activities ranging from performing plays, to playing musical instruments, to making artwork at the Social Responsibility Day at the annual LUMUN conference.
We are open to all sorts of ideas and are hoping for full cooperation in this noble mission.

Best Wishes.”
